Blog #13 - Happy New Year 2025

The start of 2025 will be my 10th year of photography - many changes have occurred in that timespan.

From being published in Capture Minnesota coffee table book and having other images featured on websites and being part of the First Ladies Prairie Art show here in South Dakota and later having my first solo art show locally. Have been contracted with Arcangel Images for book cover photography since 2015 and in recent years have had images published on authors books in Germany, Italy and Norway. For a few years I provided portrait and wedding services and in the past year have chosen to focus on my travel photography and bookcover submissions.

I have traveled for photography in the United States and one area of Canada and have moved on from using Nikon DSLR camera bodies/lenses and transitioned to Olympus mirrorless camera body/lenses

Blog #12 - Lens Research

The M.Zuiko Digital ED 100-400mm f/5.0-6.3 IS lens from Olympus is an excellent addition for OM-D photographers, which offers a huge telephoto focal range of 200-800mm (35mm equivalent). Despite the impressive range, the lens is extremely compact at just 205mm long and lightweight enough to bring anywhere, making it ideal for wildlife, action and sports photographers. Extensive dust and weather sealing provide peace of mind when shooting during inclement weather, which is ideal for outdoor users. Advanced optical engineering incorporates a combination of four Extra-low Dispersion (ED) lenses, two Super High Refractive Index (Super HR) elements and two HR (High Refractive Index) lenses. Together these combine to deliver edge to edge sharpness with bright clear images and video, along with well controlled ghosting and flaring for sunlit conditions.

Blog Entry #8 - Camera Body - Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark II Mirrorless Camera

I love this camera body - it has a great feel about it and comfortable to use - love the placement of the dials/buttons and the compact size of the mirrorless camera. It is also key to have the correct pixel size that is required for bookcover submissions as they have their set criteria.

Blog Entry #3 - Why I changed over to the Olympus brand camera.

Blog Entry #3 - Why I changed over to the Olympus brand camera.

It's been almost 2 years since I made the switch from a DSLR camera setup to the mirrorless camera. The biggest reason being the weight of the camera gear. The mirrorless camera system is slimmer and the lenses are smaller and lighter weight and that is a big difference when carting around your camera gear when traveling. I absolutely love the Olympus gear that I'm using the OMD-EM1 Mark II camera body and two Olympus lenses.

Be sure to check out the link for more info tab of the brief history of the Olympus camera
